A few months ago, I had a thought; "I'd love to read a character-driven post-alien invasion story about a single dad just trying to live a normal life." OK, really the thought was, "what if Independence Day, but just some guy trying to live his life. "

Eventually I decided I would try my hand at writing the story. I've always loved a writing a story, but it's been years since I've written anything. What started as just a little idea for a short story or novella has fleshed itself out into what's going to be a novel. Currently it's about 50% of the way to a completed first draft.

I have a full-time job, and family of my own, so it's slow going. Some days I struggle to find the time and mental energy to write anything. But it is going.
